Apple and Pear Chips November 10, 2009

Yield: 1 apple or pear yields approximately 20 chips

This is a simple way to enjoy apple and pear season. If you like, you can sprinkle the fruit chips with cumin or cinnamon prior to baking.

Procedure:

  1. Heat oven to 200 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a non-stick silicone mat or parchment paper.
  2. Use a mandolin to make paper-thin slices of apples or pears, cross-wise. Place slices on prepared baking sheet in single layer.
  3. Oven-dry the apple or pear slices in the oven for about 90 minutes, or until lightly browned. Immediately remove from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack.
